We understand that recent nationwide — and even global — conversations around DEIA have raised concerns for many of our members. In times of uncertainty, it’s natural to feel a mix of emotions, and we want you to know that ALA is here to support you. Our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility remains steadfast, as outlined in our 2024-2026 Strategic Direction.
In this uncertain landscape, where new developments can be difficult to follow, ALA has chosen to remain focused on its Vision and Mission and our commitment to ensuring that diversity is seen and felt in everything we do.
Here are several ways ALA is able to provide support:
- If you are an ALA chapter leader with questions or concerns about how these discussions affect your chapter, your Chapter Resource Team (CRT) liaison is here to listen and ensure your concerns are directed to the appropriate place.
- All members can join the conversations in the ALA’s Online Community to connect with your peers.
- You can access resources such as the DEIA Hub, online publications, and educational programs to stay connected and informed.
As we continue to develop conference programs, educational offerings and leadership opportunities, our goal is to provide timely, relevant insights from knowledge leaders who are experts in their field, while also creating spaces for members to engage in meaningful discussions and learn from one another.
We deeply appreciate your engagement and dedication to making ALA a welcoming community for all where we create excellence, drive innovation and empower leaders in law.
Sincerely,
ALA Board of Directors
