Chapter Leadership Institute
The Chapter Leadership Institute took place July 25-27, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.
Chapters were encouraged to send one or more chapter leaders to CLI. Attendees found value in the sessions being offered. Participants included:
- Chapter President-Elects
- New chapter officers
- Current chapter officers who have not previously attended CLI
- Individuals interested in becoming a chapter officer

Agenda
The full event agenda was released in June 2019. ALA hosted a Welcome Reception Thursday evening. CLI officially got underway Friday morning and conclude Saturday evening. Participants traveled home on Sunday.

Funding Assistance
ALA’s Chapter Leadership Institute (CLI) is an orientation, training and networking event for chapter officers and volunteer leaders. The ALA Board of Directors has determined that chapters will no longer automatically receive a complimentary registration and a travel stipend for one representative to attend this event. Instead, with the understanding that each chapter’s financial situation is different, the Board has set aside funds to support those chapters who need assistance with the cost and will consider one funding application per chapter based on the financial need. Applications are reviewed by members of the Board of Directors.Note: Only applications for the chapter’s primary representative will be considered. As in prior years, all secondary chapter representatives should be funded by the chapter.
