Alcoholism in the Workplace
The session includes the speaker’s personal story of recovery from alcoholism while holding a position as a trial court judge. It will equip attendees with ways to respond if you know or suspect a colleague is struggling with alcoholism or substance abuse, how an employer can respond in those situations, and provide suggestions for the many resources available to help people suffering from alcoholism or addiction. The HIPAA Privacy Rules Are Changing in 2023! What You Need to Know
The Achilles’ heel for plaintiff litigation and personal injury cases is obtaining medical and billing records. Attorneys and the clients they serve wait too long, expend too much effort and pay too much for records ― denying justice and delaying restoring an injured person’s life. The good news is that changes to the HIPAA Privacy Rule in 2023 will address these issues. The modification to the HIPAA Privacy Rule will dramatically improve access to protected health information, cut red tape for the request process and eliminate outrageous copy fees.
