Safran focuses on working with law firm leadership and operations teams to drive operational improvement, lower costs and improve law firm profit margins. He is an Adjunct Professor for the University of Illinois College of Law teaching a practical, “business of law” class for soon-to-be graduating lawyers. Safran has worked with more than 700 legal clients spanning almost 40 years.

David B. Sarnoff, Esq., ACC, is an International Coaching Federation-Certified Executive Coach and leadership trainer with Loeb Leadership. Suzanne Schwartz ensures effective operations of major functional areas for Quarles as the Milwaukee Office Administrator. A former paralegal and Paralegal Coordinator, she was the central point of contact to assign paralegals to attorneys based on skills and availability. With 27 years of administrative experience, Schwartz monitored and analyzed paralegal hours and workloads to promote efficient utilization and assess profitability. She also championed paralegal professional development by conducting training on fundamentals and legal technology and developing upskilling modules and a skill-based career curriculum.

Kathryn Scourby, CBCP, is the Principal of KNS Consulting, LLC, and a Certified Business Continuity Professional. She works with professional service firms in the areas of business continuity, disaster preparedness, risk management and compliance. Additionally, Scourby consults with and trains management professionals in overall business continuity planning, facilitating tabletop exercises and conducting business impact assessments (BIAs). She is a frequent presenter at legal management and business continuity conferences, local ALA chapter meetings, state and local bar association meetings, and with private service firms and businesses.

Lynda C. Shely, Founder of The Shely Firm, PC, provides legal ethics and regulatory advice to lawyers and law firms. Prior to opening her own firm, she was the Director of Lawyer Ethics for the State Bar of Arizona and an attorney with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Washington, D.C. Shely is chair of the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, an Arizona Delegate in the ABA House of Delegates, and volunteers with several other nonbillable groups involved in legal ethics matters, including as a member of the Arizona Supreme Court’s Alternative Business Structures Committee.

Camille Stell serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Lawyers Mutual Consulting. She is a frequent author and speaker on the topics of legal ethics, succession planning and law firm trends of the future. Stell serves as a member of the NC Pro Bono Resource Coordinators Network, the Advisory Group for the Duke Law Tech Lab and as a Fellow in the College of Law Practice Management. She is the Designing a Succession Plan for your Law Practice, published in 2021.

Joy Stephens, MBA, brings a unique and varied collection of work experiences to the table. She has dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, as well as a Masters of Business Administration. Stephens spent her more than 20 years in corporate America with companies like Proctor & Gamble and Kimberly Clark. She believes that empathy and compassion are the keys to better leadership, better communication and stronger working relationships. She imbues all her workshop facilitation with the goal of recognizing the humanity in each other.

Matthew Sullivan, JD, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Unravel Legal, a consulting firm for law firms. He also serves as the Director of Finance and Operations for a family law firm in Orange County, California. His passion is to rid the financial stress of law firm owners’ experiences by getting them to take control of their finances through easy-to-use business planning and road mapping methods.
