Emergency Procedures
In case of emergency or if you require security at the Seattle Convention Center, please dial ext. 5127 from a house phone or call 206-694-5127 from any cell or outside line, and ask for security.
If you hear an alarm sound:
- Listen to announcements and follow instructions of the facility and emergency personnel.
- Remain calm and walk to the nearest immediate exit.
- Do NOT use elevators or escalators.
- Do NOT return to the facility until given the “all clear” by facility and emergency personnel.
“Sheltering in Place” During an Emergency
In some emergencies it will be safer for those in the building to remain inside. Listen for emergency instructions via the public address system. Go into an interior room with few windows, if possible. Lock doors, close windows and air vents if possible. Be prepared to improvise and use what you have on hand to seal gaps in doors and windows so that you create a barrier between yourself and any contamination. Assist any elderly or disabled persons. Do not try to leave the building unless safe to do so. Stay in your assigned area. Listen for the “All Clear” sign given by facility or other emergency officials before attempting to leave the building.
First Aid
At the Seattle Convention Center, service contractor AMR provides medical response, from basic first aid to emergency life support. The First Aid room location is available on the event app and from the registration desk.
