Member Experience Committee Charter

Charter

Purpose: This committee will be strategic with ongoing work to improve the member experience for engagement, recruitment, and retention.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

Attend regular meetings via video conference.
Prepare plan of work and mid-year report on progress for Board approval.
Collaborate with Member Ambassador Committee with relevant materials, findings, and reports.

Qualifications and General Responsibilities:

Engaged in ALA and understands the value of ALA.
Excellent communication skills.
Positive attitude.
Professional and collaborative.
Analyze member demographics.  
Deliver quarterly reports noting trends.
Identify member needs and recommend benefits, educational and professional development, and programs to engage and increase member value.
Determine nonmember needs in order to attract and recruit new members.
Assist in recommending opportunities in the legal industry for recruiting subject matter experts and growing ALA’s general membership.

Construct: Size: 7–9 volunteers

Call for Volunteers: Annually, Summer

Selection:  Fall

Term: 2-year staggered term
