Recertifying Your CLM

Let’s Recertify Your Certified Legal Manager Credential

Congratulations on earning your CLM designation! You’re part of an elite group that has demonstrated commitment to the legal management profession. The education required to recertify ensures you’re up to speed on best practices in the legal management industry.

If you’re looking for information on recertifying your CLM, you’ve come to the right place. All CLMs are eligible to recertify, and do not have to currently be working in the legal industry to recertify their CLM designation. But in order to keep using your CLM credential, you’ll have to meet the recertification criteria outlined here, including associated fees and education requirements. You’ll need to sign ALA’s Code of Ethics, too.

Already a pro at the recertification process? Recertification Applications (see CLM Status tab) and Annual Maintenance fees (see CLM Status tab) can be processed online.

If you need to send a check or apply by mail, fill out this recertification application and send to:

Association of Legal Administrators
CLM Certification Center
8600 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Suite 400N
Chicago, IL 60631

Retiring? You Can Still Maintain Your CLM

If you’re fully retired from the legal industry but looking to stay connected to the profession and the CLM community, we offer the CLM (Ret.) designation. Email us at [email protected] for more information.
