One of the hallmarks of our Certified Legal Manager credential is a commitment to knowing best practices in the legal management industry. To do that requires an investment in your continuing education so you can stay on top of the latest knowledge, skills and abilities within the legal management profession.
When you recertify, you’ll be asked to show you’ve completed 36 hours of coursework during the prior three years, including a minimum of 3 hours in each of the following subject areas:
And including a minimum of 1 hour in the following subject areas:
Substance abuse and business ethics hours are part of the overall 36-hour coursework requirement. However, the minimum 1 hour each of ethics and substance abuse cannot be counted twice. The credit is for contact time only and can’t be given for course prep or if you are presenting the same course more than once.
Of the 36 hours, a maximum of 12 hours of credit can be earned from:
Some fully on-demand/recorded education will be accepted for recertification credit only. This includes passive learning experiences such as videoconferences or webcasts. These programs must still meet the education criteria, including that educational objectives must be published for the program.
