As part of implementing ALA's mission statement and strategic direction, the ALA Board of Directors has approved a collection of shared interest groups (SIGs) to provide dynamic resources and engaged peer communities for our members. These SIGs are meant to enhance the member experience and allow for education and professional development opportunities to be shared based on each group's interest area.
The 2025 SIGs are set to launch this spring. Descriptions of each group can be found below. Details on how to join a new SIG are forthcoming. Each SIG will need two SIG leaders. If you are interested in a low time commitment role, but yet would like to be active in an ALA group, please consider becoming a SIG leader. Details about the SIG leader role and responsibilities can be found here.
