Certified Legal Manager Exam: Picking Your Test Location

Take the CLM Exam Online or In Person

Exam day is here! All that prep work you’ve done for your Certified Legal Manager credential is being put to the test — literally.

First up: exam location. We offer the option to take the test in-person at a test center or online. This page gives an overview of both options so you can determine which one is best for you.

Whether testing at a Test Center or from home, be prepared to show one form of current government-issued identification such as a driver’s license or passport. This must be a photo identification with a signature. Full details are available here. You’ll have four hours to complete the exam.

In Person

If you opt to take the CLM exam in person, we encourage you to sign up right away so you can get your preferred location! (Look here to find an in-person location near you.) Once your CLM application has been approved, you’ll receive a unique password and URL to register at one of Pearson’s testing locations. Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the exam.

Online

If taking the test online, there are some things to consider, including system requirements and whether or not you’ll have a quiet, comfortable space where you can fully concentrate. For example, there are specific requirements for the test, and we are not able to offer real-time tech support for any issues you encounter. This link will tell you what you need to know before taking the exam online and can run a system test ahead of time before you commit.
